USYS clarifies age group structure for 2017-18 season

After adjusting the age groups for US Youth Soccer programs this past season to account for the U.S. Soccer birth-year registration mandate, US Youth Soccer would like to clarify the age groups competing in competitive programs for the upcoming 2017-18 season.

Calling All Coaches

Soccer RI will be conducting a number of novice/volunteer coaching courses. These courses are designed for the first and second year coach or any parent assigned to be a volunteer coach. No prerequisites for this are needed.

If you are a coach and would like to take advantage of the Novice Training Course for the upcoming Fall 2017 season please contact the Director of Coaches from your local soccer association or at Soccer Rhode Island

Target's $14M Commitment to Youth Soccer

This month, Target announced a $14 million commitment to local youth soccer. As part of their initiatives, Target has launched a local youth soccer grant program to help make the sport more accessible by awarding annual grants of $1,000 to eligible schools, government agencies and nonprofit organizations and help cover player registration fees, field equipment and gear, and professional development for volunteer coaches. Applications are only open through Aug. 30.
