Soccer Rhode Island

The Semi-final and Final games will be held on June 22 & 23, 2013 at Deerfield Park in Smithfield.  Some semi-final games in the U12 & U14 divisions will be played at Scituate's Tasca Field.

How teams qualify:

• The top teams from the Super Liga final standings in each age group, gender and division will qualify for the 2013 Soccer-RI Cup. 
• Teams participating in other US Youth Soccer Sanctioned leagues may apply to the Soccer-RI Cup. 
•      If more than 1 team from other US Youth Soccer Sanctioned Leagues apply, a single elimination round will be held until only one team remains. The remaining team will be seeded by Soccer Rhode Island.
•      For age/gender/divisions with other US Youth Soccer League teams: Soccer-RI will seed the other teams based on their league standings.  Super Liga teams will be entered in the order of their league standings.
•      If an age group, gender and division does not have any teams from other US Youth Soccer Leagues then the teams that qualify in that division will be entered into the Cup by their final League standings.

Rosters:

• Teams must use the roster that they submitted for their last league game. Guest players may not be added for the Soccer-RI Cup.
• Teams may bring three (3) club pass players to a Soccer-RI Cup game. 
• Club Pass players are:
•      Members of the same club as the team playing in the Soccer-RI Cup
•      Club Pass players must be from a lower division team
•      The following information must be written on the roster for each Club Pass player:       
•      Un #, Last Name, First Name, M/F, ID #, City, State, Birthdate

•      A team adding Club Pass Players may not exceed the max roster size at a game.

•         Example:  a U12 team may have a max of 14 players on the roster.  If there are 12 player attending a game from the regulary roster then the team may only bring 2 Club Pass Players.

• Guest Players from outside of the team’s club are not Club Pass Players and therefore are not allowed in the Soccer-RI Cup.

Games:

     Preliminary Round Games

           All prelimiary Games are scheduled by the teams playing per the bracket.

           Home team is the top team in the bracket.

           Games must be played no later than Sunday, June 16, 2013. Due to the inclement weather the deadline to play perliminary games has been extended to Tuesday, June 18, 2013.

     Both teams must email Paul Hoxsie (pgh196@aol.com) with the following information:

•  Home team
•  Club
• Team name
•  Age group
• Gender
• Division
•  Away team
• Club
•  Team name
• Age group
• Gender
• Division
•  Game Date
•  Game Time
• Field Name with address

Soccer Rhode Island will assign the referees for all Cup Games

     Number of teams that will qualify for the 2013 Soccer-RI Cup

The 2011 Soccer-RI Cup concluded on the weekend of June 25 & 26, 2011.  The semi-finals were played at Scituate Youth Soccer's Tasca Fields and Smithfield Youth Soccer's Deerfield Park.  All finals were played at Smithfield Youth Soccer's Deerfield Park. 

In the interest of the safety of our players, Soccer Rhode Island has instituted a Concussion Policy which is in effect for the 2011 Soccer-RI Cup:

If a referee stops a game due to a player(s) having received contact to their head(s), the player must be removed from the game immediately and will not be allowed back into the game.
On the Referee's Game Report, the referee will note the player's name and number along with a report of the incident. The player cannot return to play in a SRI sanctioned event until a doctor authorizes that the player is able to play.
The doctor's authorization note must be forwarded to SRI. 
It is the coach's responsibility to monitor the health and safety of his/her players. The referee at times may be obstructed and not have vision of an incident. If the coach feels that a player has been injured and could have a potential concussion, the coach should get the referee's attention and ask for the player to be removed from the game.
