2010 Soccer RI Festival

In Honor of the Megan Cordeiro Memorial Fund

The 2010 Soccer RI U8 & U10 Festival will be held on June 5 & 6, 2010. Girls teams will play on Saturday, June 5 and boys teams will play on Sunday, June 6.  Team entry is completed by your association. Please contact your Association Registrar, Recreational Coordinator or President to enter.

The 2010 games will be hosted by Burrillville Glocester Youth Soccer, Coventry Soccer, Pawtucket Youth Soccer and Tiverton Youth Soccer. This year the Soccer Rhode Island Festival will honor Megan Cordeiro, a young Tiverton soccer player who lost her courageous battle with cancer. Donations to the Megan Cordeiro Memorial Fund will be accepted at all Festival locations.

Teams may be assigned to any of the four locations and due to scheduling issues we cannot honor requests. In creating the schedule, we strive to have each team play at least one team they have not played in the RI Youth Super Liga. Except for rare situations all teams will have an hour to 2 hours between games. Plenty of time for players and their families to rest and enjoy the hosts’ festivities!

2005 SRI Festival

The 2005 Soccer Rhode Island Festival for U-8's and U-10's girls and boys was a
tremendous success. Cumberland Youth Soccer Association hosted all of the U-8's for the two day festival. Paul Bradley and the volunteers in Cumberland did an outstanding job hosting the U-8's for the first time. Meanwhile, the U-10's were divided between Tiverton and Coventry. Ray Vigneau and his core of volunteers did a spectacular job in Coventry while John Ferreira and the gang from Tiverton provided a great arena for the kids again this year. The appearance of New England Revolution's rookie sensation Michael Parkhurst, highlighted this year's soccer festival.
