Olympic Development Program
As the Director of all Olympic Development Coach’s, John has brought many new faces to the program. New coaches and new players. This season will mark his seventh year with the Olympic Development Program. Once again, our teams were very successful at the ODP Tournament in June, with one team advancing to the ODP Semi-finals for the second time in Rhode Island history (2004 & 2005). Six of our young male players were selected to Regional Teams following camp. Tomlinson was formerly an Assistant Coach for the Men’s Soccer Team at Bryant College. He holds a USSF B License. Tomlinson is the Director of Pro Excel Soccer RI and was a 3 year Pro at Birmingham City FC. ![]() Keith Anderson Anderson's coaching experience includes College, High School, and Youth levels. He was the Assistant Men's Coach at Salve Regina University from 2003-2005, an Assistant Coach at North Kingstown High School (2000-2002) and coached U14 and U15 with the Northern Lightning/Blackwatch(2003-2005). He was also the Director of Coaches for the North Kingstown Soccer Club (2000 - 2002). Keith holds a USSF "C" License and a NSCAA National Diploma and a NationalYouth Diploma. He played college soccer at Dean College and the Universityof New England.
After two years of Professional Indoor Soccer with the Cleveland Crunch, Chicago Fire and the Canton Invaders; Bradley continued his soccer career with the APC Rhode Island Stingrays. During that same time, he was the Varsity Coach at Seekonk High School. Bradley attended and graduated from the University of Rhode Island. As a four-year standout player, Bradley was named Captain in his senior year. Bradley was recognized for his talent during his four years when he was named to the All New England and All Atlantic 10 Tournament Team in his senior year. Bradley holds a National “B” Coaching License. This season begins his fourth season with the Rhode Island Olympic Development Program.
Oscar Delmos Oscar serves as part of our goalkeeper staff. He is the Director of Coach’s Education for Soccer Rhode Island, and holds the USSF B License. He is the former Boys Head Coach for Bristol High School, and has coached several teams for Bristol Youth Soccer. Level as one of the Black Watch Staff Coaches there he trains & coaches Under 14 boy he also was the Youth Academy Director, Head Coach of the Under14/13 Boys & The Boys Director of the Mass Stingers. This is Joe Dutra first year as Olympic Development Program Coaching Staff.
Coach Joe is well known for his demanding coaching style during games and training sessions and philosophy of quick counterattacks & fast pace style makes my teams exciting to watch. hold a USSF license and is Youth Soccer certified & also a member of NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America).
Fish returns for his fourth year as a keeper coach for the Olympic Development Program. He has served as the Assistant Varsity Coach at South Kingstown High School where the team has twice finished first in their bracket and continued on to the State Final Championships. Fish is a graduate of Roger Williams University with a degree in accounting. A four year member of the Men’s Soccer Team, Fish holds the school record for most shutouts in a season as a goalkeeper. His team has finished first in their Division all four years, and participated in the NCAA Division III three playoffs during 2000 and 2001. They were the ECAC Tournament Champions in 2002. Fish participated as a player in RI ODP from 1998 – 2000.
Froberg is the Boy’s Varsity Coach at North Kingstown High School. Involved as a coach in the Northern Lightning Soccer Club, he most recently coached a U19 Boys team. Prior to coming to North Kingstown High School, Froberg was the Assistant Coach at Rhode Island College (1995-1997) Froberg played for the APC Stingrays following his graduation from the University of Rhode Island having played during his four years at the University. His abilities as a stand out player and leader lead to him being named Captain in his Senior year. Froberg is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer. He begins his sixth season as an ODP Coach; and this year begin a Strength and Conditioning Program for our players. Froberg holds a USSF "C" License. Peter Gallo Peter is a member of goal keeping staff for the second year.
Luke Hovey Hovey is a graduate of Bryant University. Hovey was a four-year veteran in the midfield who started all 17 games his last for the Bulldogs. Hovey scored one goal and had one assist for a total of 3 points in his junior season. Hovey played for Toll Gate High School were he was a Second Team All State Selection in 2001. Hovey was a four-time all-division selection. Won eight varisty letters in scocer as well as indoor and outdoor track and field. Mike Gruelich Mike joins the Olympic Development Program this year for the second season. He brings a tremendous amount of energy to our developmental group.
This is Juan’s year with the Olympic Development Program. He has been involved in soccer as a player, coach and referee for over 20 years. Juan played at the collegiate level for “La Agraria” University in Lima, Peru. He also played L.A.S.A. for the East Providence team, which became champions in 1981. He joined the Unites States Navy playing for the fleet against NATO countries (England, Italy, Spain) from 1983 through 1986. He has played for different amateur teams in New Jersey and Rhode Island until 1997. Juan coached the EWG Boys team (1998) and was an assistant coach for the Saint Raphael JV Girls varsity team (2003). He graduated from Salve Regina University with a M.S. in Management and speaks fluent Spanish and has a good understanding of Portuguese as well.
Ian Poole Ian joins ODP for the first year with our development group. Ian attend Roger Williams University where he played all four years. Prior to his attendance at Roger Williams, Ian was a member of the North Kingstown High School team. Ian, during his youth soccer years, played for North Kingstown Youth Soccer, South County Youth Soccer, and Bruno United.
Trudeau has been the Assistant Men's Coach at Bryant University since 2003.
Prior to coaching at Bryant, Trudeau was an Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach at Bishop Hendricken High School (1992 - 2003), Head JV Coach at Bishop Hendricken (1998 - 2003), U15 Boys Coach for Bayside United (2000) and Boys U15 and U16 for Bruno United (2004 - 2006).
Trudeau has also been the Head Coach of the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center's Unified Special Olympics soccer team since 1997. During this time he also served as Coach for Rhode Island's only 11-a-side team that competed at the 1999 Special Olympics World Games in Raleigh, NC.
He holds a USSF "D" license. He played Division II college soccer at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, NH. Williamson continues this year as a keeper coach for the program. Williamson attended Rhode Island College (a 2003 graduate), and played for their Men’s Soccer team. The starting keeper for three years, he was recognized for his leadership abilities being named Captain for two years. He received the MVP Award, was named to Second Team All Conference. With Williamson in the net, Rhode Island College played in 3 consecutive play off series. Since his graduation, he has continued to assist the Rhode Island College Men’s Soccer Team by providing coaching for their goal keepers. He is also the coach of the Cranston West Boy’s Soccer Team. A teacher at North Smithfield High School, Williamson can also be seen on the field as an Assistant Varsity Coach for the Boys Soccer Team as well. The JV team for which he is responsible improved their record this year to 11-1-4 with 13 shutouts. During the Spring Season, Williamson is the keeper coach for the Black Watch Premier Club. Williamson played at North Kingstown High School from 1993-1997 where he was a Captain and was recognized with 1st Team All State honors. Williamson participated as a keeper in the Olympic Development Program prior to attending college during 1994 and 1995. He has also been a participant at Joe Machnik 1 Goal Keeper Camps and the Brown University Goal Keeper Camps.
As a dedicated coach, he has also participated with the following teams: Goff Middle School, -Head Coach Boys Team (1999); Lasalle Academy, -Junior Varsity Boys Head Coach , - 1998 Citizens Bank JV Tournament Champions, (1996-1998) Rhode Island Stingrays (United Soccer Leagues Division 3 Professional Team, New England Revolution minor league affiliate) -General Manager/Assistant Coach/Director of Soccer Operations (player personnel and camps) Darius was a member of the Clark University (Division III) soccer team from 1990 – 1994. He was recognized as the Most Improved Player from 1991 – 1993. He then went on to become the Assistant Men’s Coach at Clark University in 1995. |
