The following statement from United Soccer Coaches President Lesle Gallimore on the United 2026 Bid being awarded the 2026 World Cup:
As coaches, we couldn’t be more excited with the announcement of the United Bid of Canada, Mexico and the USA as host for the 2026 World Cup. It will be a continental soccer party the likes of which has never been seen before.
For the U.S., we have a special opportunity. A chance to come together as a soccer nation and celebrate all levels of the game in our country. This unique moment in history has been made possible, in part, by the tens of thousands of coaches at the youth, high school and college levels over the decades passing along their love of the game to their players.
Today, let’s commit to uniting around the love of the game. It will just make us stronger.
President, United Soccer Coaches
United Soccer Coaches, formerly the NSCAA, was founded in 1941 and is the largest community for soccer coaches in the world. We unite coaches of all levels around the love of the game and we elevate the game through advocacy, education and service.
